Elżbieta Wasiuczyńska - painter and book illustrator for children. A graduate of the Faculty of Painting
and Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In 1991, she received a diploma with
distinction at the J. Joniak Painting Studio, and in 1994 a diploma at the Book and Typography
Laboratory of prof. R.Banaszewskiego. Winner of many prestigious awards in Poland and abroad.
Distinguished in the competition Pro Bolonia 2001 (Warsaw) for illustrations to W. Widłak series of
stories, Pan Kuleczka and in 2002 for the author book Miau-Miau. A year later she was awarded a
special jury prize and an audience award for illustrations to the calendar in the international Vidical
2003 competition (Warsaw). In 2004, she was honored at the Biennial of Illustration in Japan for her
original book entitled;Journey;, and in 2005 in the competition Świat Przyjazny Dziecku; awarded
for illustrations to Małgorzata Strzałkowska, Bajki o ślimaku Kacperku;. Also in 2005, she was
nominated for the Book of the Polish Section of the IBBY Section Award for Zofia Stanecka;Trzy
świnki/ Three Pigs;, while in 2007 she was awarded in Jarosz Mikołajewski illustrations for the book
Zoo. In 2009, she created a series of original illustrations from felt and fleece to the book My first
alphabet. For Endo she created the first, unforgettable characters - Ćwira Plamisty and Dwarf,
thanks to whom Endowa art appeared on street billboards.
